Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Argent, four fleurs-de-lis Gules between a saltire Azure.  Attached below the shield a Silver scroll inscribed COURAGE SANS PEUR in Black letters.

Symbolism
The shield is white (silver), the color of the old Infantry facings.  The blue saltire represents service during the Civil War and the four fleurs-de-lis, the organizations major engagements in France during World War I.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 126th Infantry Regiment on 11 August 1927.  It was redesignated with the description updated, for the 126th Armor Regiment on 6 January 2000.  The insignia was redesignated for the 126th Cavalry Regiment effective 1 September 2007.  It was redesignated effective 22 March 2016, for the 126th Infantry Regiment with the symbolism updated.
