Shield
The shield is white, the color of the old Infantry facings. The blue saltire represents service during the Civil War and the four fleurs-de-lis, the organizations major engagements in France during World War I.
Crest
The crest is that of the Michigan Army National Guard.
The coat of arms was originally approved for the 126th Infantry Regiment on 10 August 1927. It was redesignated with description updated, for the 126th Armor Regiment on 6 January 2000. The insignia was redesignated for the 126th Cavalry Regiment effective 1 September 2007. It was redesignated effective 22 March 2016, for the 126th Infantry Regiment with the blazon and symbolism updated.
